Only came with 1 polymer Tapco 30 round mag. Don't care for 40+ round mags, so 30 is fine but I'm not sure what to avoid and whats good. Wouldn't mind to get some metal mags just because I like the feel of metal mags but I'm not completely stuck on them. I have been looking around and theres SO many different kinds of metal and plastic I don't know what to choose. I had a few Tapco mags for my SKS and they seemed to be the highest recommend mags it but wasn't sure if that was the case for AK's. I keep seeing some metal and polymer for $14-20/ea on different websites and that'd be great as long as their not junk. I hate to order like 4-5 of them and then end up with $100 of shitty mags.

Damn thanks, I hadn't seen any for $10/ea, that's awesome. Well $8.95/ea if I got 10. Normally I'd be concerned that they were junk but if you're recommending them I guess they're good.

Thanks guys for the confirmation. I was hesitant at first, didn't want to waste money and the cheap price made me weary.

East German steel mags have always worked just fine for me, and IIRC they're still all over the place for under $10 each.

How would I know? The rifle is 100% stock except it has a regular style black plastic stock kit instead of the wood. But no bayonet, grenade launcher (if ak's even ever had them :dunno:), folding stock, etc.

Ok went ahead and placed an order. I needed some ammo too and had $100 to spend so I decided to get 4 mags to try them out and spent the rest on 200 rounds of Wolf 7.62x39 and shipping.

Am I just blind or is the stock sight hard to see? I can see the sides of the front side--the part the looks like this: ( ) but the little . in the middle is pretty damn hard to see unless I'm really concentrating and pointing at something bright/one solid color. That little nub on the front sight between the ( )'s is so tiny its hard to line it up.

I have this http://www.mojosights.com/ak47_sks.html it works well.

You can also go with, http://www.tech-sights.com/ak.htm advantage on this guy is longer sight radius and aperature sight the way it was designed to be used.

Not too bad but I think if I was going to spend more than a couple of bucks I'd end up with some kind of red dot sight or something. I'm not doing anything long range so a high power scope will be a waste but I'm still not sure if an unmagnified red dot is good either :dunno: An ACOG would be nice but I can't afford that especially for a WASR-10.
