So I finally bit the bullet and replaced my cheap BSA red dot with something of a higher quality. Just brought this beauty back from Sportsman's Warehouse.

How is it sitting on top of the carry handle? How is your cheek weld?

You have problems with it catching on fire with all that oil?

Yes, and it cost me $0. How much did you spend on guns last year?

Just a B-square 1913 base and a weaver 30mm tube ring. The cheek weld isnt terrible, but when I get a flattop upper it wont matter. This will do until then.

No, I purchased it whole from http://www.eastcountyguns.com/ back in 2005. I never noticed that before, is that something I should be concerned about?

EDIT: New pic for the oil nazis:

After seeing HossB7s thread about the Troy industries rail, I might just spring for that instead.

Thats not the point :hs:. I made it so I wouldnt have to spend $30+ to mount my Z2 on my gun. For what I use it for, it works perfectly fine.

i'd advice against mounting on a handguard rail. it has the potential to lose zero. my brother run the cantilever set up on his a2 and its pretty sweet.

Especially since the Troy isnt free float either. Good observation. Hmmm I need to re-think my setup again.

Just swap out your receiver for a flat top. It's like a $99 part.

The dot on the carry handle is probably fine until you have to shoot from prone.

Im glad I got one years ago. If you can justify getting a full AR, get a stripped lower just IN CASE we get another AWB.
