I finally picked up my Kimber TLE/RLII this afternoon. After a year of waiting it was worth it. I dont have many mods planned at the moment. The only thing now is wait for the weekend and go have fun. Maybe different grips, maybe a light, maybe nothing. I just need to get my DE imported and I'll be happy for a little bit.

damn that shit looks fucking nice.. I'm not a big fan of how most 1911's look, but if I ever got one, itd be a Kimber.. I love the way those things look..

isnt the TLE the same one that LAPD uses?

Thats what they tell me. Im going to take some better pics when I hit the range this weekend. This is my first firearm with night sights and they are wicked. I can find my gun on the night stand in a just woke up daze. I better becareful when hitting the alarm I may blast my neighbors.

I need some night sights for my G34. I'm looking at Heine SlantPro Tritiums.

First off guns are way more spendy in Canada than in the US. Something about import tax brackets on firearms blah blah blah. SO I paid 1700 CDN after tax, rougly 1500USD. I could have bought one on gunbroker for 1000 USD or less. It was kind of now or never in buying this gun. All the kimber dealers in western canada were outta stock and they started pricing at 1700 plus tax. So not only did I get the best deal they also had it in stock. The other dealers told me 1 to 4 months! Living in Canada has its pros and cons... buying firearms isn't one of the pros. Took me 1 week to get all the paper work finished, sucks giving out 1700 and only getting a reciept. When I lived in ND it was 15 min and I was out the door. Plus you cant shoot anywhere but a range. Private property forget it, out in the bush, forget it. No carry laws too.

    Looks really nice!

Been wanting a Kimber but I got other stuff I want too.

Give us a range report once you've gotten to shoot it.

How many rounds have you fired with yours? I read some people were complaining about the external extractor. It seems some have problems and some dont. Also, I did notice the rail but cant you get the rail on other kimbers? So thats why I asked if it was a TLE as well.

Anyways yes more kimber owners sign in with pics please.

Well I got to take my new toy to the range today finally. And all my concerns of the external extractor or FTFs went out the window this afternoon. This gun is a dream come true. No problems, no issues, nothing. Straight outta the box, it was flawless, me on the other hand my shots were to the left, but I always shoot to the left. I tired various things and I got it down after the first 50 rds. I myself put 150 rounds through with no issue. My frineds probably put through another 40 or so no problems. Everyone was so jealous of my new gun, and it was their first outing with a kimber as well. Everyone has "heard" how good they were but now they got to find out first hand. Im so happy I didnt' have any issues with it. Now I get to have fun learning how to take it down and clean it.... oh joy.

    Happy shooting fellas.

    Looks nice.

    Regarding the 1911...

I have a rather old weapon with that world's ugliest grips. Anyone recommend a site that has a good selection of grips for the 1911?

I haven't shot mine yet. It has been in a safety deposit box for
35 years or so. I wish I knew its history.

Glad to hear your Kimber shot well. Mine did well at first, but got better after it broke in a bit.
