After all the naysaying, I still plunked down and picked up a few Kimbers for a great deal. Snagged the Tactical Pro II for $550 and the CDP II for $600 both well used. The Tac was in rough shape but sent it in (out of warranty) and they replaced pretty much every part including the grips, slide, and night sites for free.

Both Kimbers shoot great and eat anything I run through them except for Corbon JHP's like to FTF.

I've had both for about a year so I figured it was time to at least take 1 picture.

It looked like it had been run over by a train. FTE'd all the time. Grip safety was loose. All the "Kim-Pro" finish had worn off in wierd places. They decided it was a faulty finish. While it was their they also decided it was easier to just replace parts (internal extractor, etc...) with a brand new slide instead of refinishing the existing parts. I was very impressed with their customer service. Turnaround time was about 2 weeks.
