Is the data getting scrambled, or are the files getting moved into folders where they don't belong?

Get the bootable ISO file, burn the image to a CD and then boot off the disc. Run the standard test, let it run 5 passes. If you get any errors, you have bad ram.

If it comes back clean, it could be your hard drive. The Seagate Disc tools will work with any brand of drive and will run the drives built in tests to determine if there are any errors with the drive.

You can also look in your event viewer under system to see if there are any warnings about HDD0\has a bad block. Those are also tell tale signs about a drive about to die.

When was the last time you defragged? And how do you know the data from your files is getting mixed together?

Defragged a week ago. When i play audio files they have the wrong song and then skip around to others. I also haven't had the problem with my other driver.

Are you playing these songs through a music player, or are you opening them directly from the folder they're in? If you're picking them out of a music player's library list, you may need to nuke the library and rebuild the list from scratch.

From the folder and in multiple players. Its not just audio either. Rar files and every thing else are getting messed up.

That's some shit. Time to make a backup, if you don't have one already.
