I haven't posted here in a while but I thought some of you might be interested in a new DVD we just released.

    Fighting Pistol DVD

FINALLY a DVD training system that trains the brain before the body!

The root word to "gunfight" isn't "gun". It is "FIGHT"!

This is the DVD adaptation of the most comprehensive handgun course in the world that everyone is talking about! Tactical Response’s Fighting Pistol course prepares you to prevail in a real world violent confrontation and now this DVD captures the Mindset, Tactics, and Legal lectures that Tactical Response has become famous for and it takes you for a one-on-one range session with James Yeager. This intensive DVD covers an incredible amount of material so watch it with a note pad!

Topics include the role and attributes of the handgun, Mindset, Tactics, legal aspects of deadly force, anatomical stopping power, and mental conditioning for combat. Live fire drills include both one- and two-handed shooting, shooting on the move, use of cover and concealment, tactical, emergency and speed loading, using both eye level and retention techniques, at a variety of ranges and from a variety of tactical body positions.

This DVD is only for serious practitioners and is HEAVY with lecture on mindset, tactics, skill, and legal issues so if you are looking for another “shoot ‘em up” DVD set that doesn’t address the REAL issues than this one is not for you. There is rangetime in this set but it mostly concentrates on the mental aspects of fighting.

Length: Three DVDs and 4.5 hours of instruction plus a bonus CDRom with extras like our "dot target" and our Fighting Pistol handout.

Ha. Oh man, James is a funny guy. I ought to buy this DVD. The contractor DVD was 4 discs of pure education.

looks good, but for 100 bucks is it really worth it? might as well just go to a class for that much.

I have yet to see a class worthwhile for that cheap. Plus most of them you have to travel to so you have more expenses related.

This DVD is most of the lecture portion of our Fighting Pistol class as well as some range help to get shooters doing things properly live fire. It would be a great prep before taking your first class from us. Some new shooters (and to be fair some shooters who have been shooting "all my life") can feel a little overwhelmed with all the ground we cover in a two day class.

There isn't another DVD like it on the market.

You should come to a class anyway. The video is a study guide or maybe a primer if you will. It doesn't replace professional hands-on instruction.

This DVD costs less than you will spend for ammo for our two day Fighting Pistol class. I would be a little suspect of a $100 class.

    Wb, Shay.

I've been considering this, since my schedule doesnt permit time for training when normal people would train, ie, business hours.

When's the last time you guys had a crew down in NC?

Last year we taught 4 or 5 classes in NC. We've also got two instructors who live there. Great guys. I'm sure we'll be back to Carthage this fall but they have had a tough time finding other ranges willing to host classes.

I added a few weekday classes this year for guys who work on weekends and those have been very well received. It doesn't sound like that will solve your scheduling problems though. We do try to be accommodating to odd shifts and schedules but it still may not work for everyone.

Even if you can't train with us, make it a priority to take training somewhere.

So is this training video compatible with 1911's? Or for Glock 19s only?

I bought their High Risk Contractor DVD set, and it was a world of learning. I expect this DVD to be that much, at least. Especially since it's more applicable to my life. Having the seen the trailer, I can say that the Fighting Pistol DVD will probably be easier to watch than the Contractor DVD, due in part to the subject matter, but also because Yeager has done a DVD already, and has that learning experience under him.

I bought the Contractor DVD, watched it, then sent it to someone who's actually going to the sandbox with a company. I'm going to see if I can get him to do the same with the Fighting Pistol DVD.
