last night i was thinking about couture vs sylvia....
i actually got pretty excited about it...
then it got me thinking, couture is the kind of guy to go in there with a gameplan, i think if he excecutes it he has a good chance of winning....

anyways, i wanted to know what is your guys' opinion...

what you guys think are the pros and cons of goin into the fight with a gamplan ??? what if something goes wrong, and the gameplan is shot to shit?? some guys cant adjust and are screwed , while others can switch it up and try something new
( a perfect example of this is coleman/cro cop, or coleman/most the fedor fights-he has no sucess taking them down, but still shot from the outside and pretty much looked pathetic in both fights )

then there are the fighters that go into the fight without a gamplan- and while you may think that to be stupid, remeber some of the best fighters go into a fight with no set gameplan.... ie. fedor and wandy for example.

so i guess the questions are:

    going into fight with gameplan
    pros.
    cons

goin into fight no gameplan-flow of the fight is gameplan for the night.
    pros
    cons.

i think and hope you all can contribute, this could be a pretty cool thread.

I remember after the Hughes vs. St. Pierre Hughes said he didn't go in with a gameplan and he never does, not sure if it affected the outcome, but thats a guy that said he never has a fight plan.

    going into fight with gameplan

    pros: you have a gameplan

cons: if your gameplan doesn't work, your back to no gameplan

going into fight without a gameplan

    pros: ?

cons: You don't have a gameplan

I think its definitely good to have a gameplan that you can force your opponent to play. Take him out of his "comfort zone" and basically have your way. Id say Tito Ortiz and Chuck Lidell are good examples of people who do this well.
