Gunbroker is going to auction off one each of Field & Stream's 50 greatest guns. What a shit list.

    http://www.gunbroker.com/user/info/info.asp?info=12

Not a single 1911 on the list, not a single Glock, no Garand, but shit like the S&W 500 revolver makes the list? :ugh:

Looks like it was made by some elitist hunting fucks. If they wanted to do the 50 greatest "sporting" guns, fine.................but dont' call it the 50 greatest guns ever made. It's not even close.

No SAA or AR/AK, but they do have a Winchester 94.

I don't like that list, but I do own a few of them on there.

I want a Winchester 94 in .30-30 a Savage 99 in .308 and possibly a S&W 29, but other than that I have the other guns already that I would want on that list.

It's from Field & Stream Magazine, not Tacticool Monthly. What did you expect?

There's a few odd ones on there, but I can agree with the majority of them. Those are the kinds of guns I was raised around :o

I can imagine Joe Biden or Barack Obama going over this list to see which gun to mention in their next speech.

This is a subjective ranking in order, but all the firearms here have several things in common: All are superlative designs; all were chosen without regard to price; all were commercial successes to a greater or lesser degree; and almost all were influential on the design of other guns. You'll notice that there are no military or target arms here (with a few exceptions, for reasons explained). We decided to limit the list to hunting firearms, which is what F&S is about.

Then list it as the 50 greatest sporting arms, not the 50 greatest guns ever made.

Doug Turnbulls shop does some AMAZING work. One of the editors of Handloader and Turnbull took a couple of his rifles on a buffalo hunt including this one in 50 Express:
