Local gunshop charges 55 plus 5 background, local Gander Mtn Charging 75 plus 5.

I understand because of the increased volume of guns being ordered they want to dissuade FFL transfers and better their own numbers, but these prices are ridiculous.

Anyone else have jacked up transfer fees in their area?

Yeah most of the dealers in my area are pretty steep, and a lot of them won't transfer anything that they could order from a distributor/wholesaler.

Check with pawn shops, a lot of times their rates are a little more reasonable. Also, run your ZIP code on GunBrokers FFL listing tool... a lot of times you'll find "kitchen table" FFL's that will do transfers a lot cheaper.

$20 for me, but most local gun shops are charging $35. If your local gun shop is charging $50 or more, then that is just price gouging and I would fine a new gun shop/FFL.

$10 here, delivered to my door.

No way I'd pay more than $25, and I'd consider that a raping. You need to make some new friends broseph.

My local guy only charges $20 and sells guns from manufacturers at cost.

I'm gonna miss him when I move out of the area someday. :hsd:

Fucking bullshit. A lot of places around here charge $40-50, luckily I have a guy who does it for $20.

Find a pawn shop, usually cheaper than gun shops.

I know Cali has DROS/state fees that total $25, so you may reasonably be looking at a $45-50 transfer fee in CA, but anywhere else, more than $25 is unreasonable and cause to take your business elsewhere.

I don't buy the concept of "they'd rather sell something off their shelf". An internet transfer is the easiest $25 a dealer can make for 5 minutes worth of effort and no money tied up in stock on the shelf.
