I am looking to buy some things through some online vendors and am pretty confused as to what the process is for FFL transfers. Could someone give me a quick runthrough of what happens?

Do I need to go to my dealer first before doing anything to get information or what?

    thanks :hs:

you go to a dealer show them what you want, dealer makes you fill out a form do background check if everything goes ok you pay for the item+ffl transfer fee you wait a couple days dealer calls you back you go pick it up.also depends on your state some state have a waiting period mine doesnt and note this is for non NFA stuff like(automatic, silencer, sbr, ect)thats a whole different ballgame.

One last question though. Once I get a copy of my dealers FFL, do I have to send it to the person I'm buying from? (or can I fax it etc)
