I sent my Macbook Pro in for repairs and they ended up replacing the hard drive (which had no problems). Good thing I have TIME MACHINE.

Except apparently my iMac took a shit last week (I was out of town) because it won't turn on. I can't restore from my Time Machine drive because I was using it over the network, hosted from my iMac, and it won't let you access the network-backups by plugging in the drive directly (brilliant).

So now I have a fucking bricked iMac G5 (out of warranty) and a blank MBP with backups of both machines. I'm not sure what to do about the iMac but I guess I will try sharing my drive from our mac at work.

Oh yeah, and my MBP won't stop running the fans at full throttle.

So you were network sharing through your iMac? Can't the Macbook now replace that link in the network setup?

From a clean install when booting from the OS X disc you should have the option of restoring from a TM backup which it will seek out.
