so on vday i set up some seamless in the kitchen and some lights and decided to try to get some shots of the kids. they really didn't want to pose together much, so i mainly got shots of them separately. i know the lighting on the background could've been a bit more even, but other than that any suggestions, criticisms, etc?

first time using flickr too, so let me know if there's a problem with viewing them.
1 - i was going to use this one for the contest, but didn't get around to processing it by the deadline

I like lighting less flat, but thats personal.

Not much to critique on controlled shots really. They look great.

I didn't take any setup shots but it's basically 9ft seamless with a novatron monolight and a shoot through umbrella on each of the front corners.

What exactly is a "seamless" ? Did you buy it?

I know it's a big white sheet or something for a background, but more specifically? :o

yes i bought it. its basically a roll of paper that doesn't have any seams or lines on it, comes in all colors. in this case, its 107" wide by 36' long, but it also comes in 53" and 144" widths if you need it wider or narrower.

I've used a bedsheet but that sucks.

Is the material like paper? Can it rip?

its heavy duty paper. it can rip but not very easily, think heavy like butcher paper.

yeah it does. i actually bought this for a job and saved it to use the other side for personal stuff. the "back" of it is really dirty and has tons of footprints on it, but like clint said, its easy to photoshop it out.
