    First, almost 100% of the pictures have to be straightened, as the horizon is so defined, and the boat is heeling and moving all the times, it's almost impossible to have the horizon straight out of the box.

    ==========

    My setup:
    [IMG]
    D80 (18-200VR and 10-20 Sigma) with splash housing and Panasonic p&s waterproof with HD video.

    The boat:
    [IMG]

    We did 1500 miles offshore, from VA to British Virgin Islands.
    We did Annapolis, MD -> Hampton, VA -> British Virgin Islands -> Sint. Maarten -> Saint-Barthelemy -> St. Kitts/Nevis -> Montserrat -> Guadeloupe -> Les Saintes -> Dominica -> Martinique -> St. Lucia

    If anyone is interested in all the pictures (and videos), they are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebeachboy/collections/72157623094822154/

    For an example of the boat's movement, this is me skipping the boat.. I didn't have much experience at that time hehe: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebeachboy/4244583741/in/set-72157623135311526/

    and this is the boat when the sea is quite rough: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebeachboy/4244707841/in/set-72157623135311526/

    the original (edited for crop and straightness) is online here

    I have a bunch of similar ones, because I have split the trip into "days" (in order for people to know the conditions each day), there are a bunch on flickr. Also, I have one for different exposure.

    They are in these two sets, you can choose a different one.:

    To show different exposure,

    This is 1/15 (and a dirty filter I need to clean the picture)

    Curious...how did you take 9?

    I don't mean camera settings...I mean, how did you position the camera that far overboard? Looks like further away than just leaning.

    I think this one was taken with the P&S, I used my mini manfrotto (with the extension) tripod to get around 1ft extension, plus my upper body leaning out.
