the saturation / fake HDR in some of the shots is a little over the top... but nice scenery and stuff

You're relying on actions too heavily.

2, 4, 6, 9... Friend of mine was just reading over my shoulder. Said he'd seen thousands of shots of horseshoe bend. #9 was the best he'd ever seen.

meh. Number 9 is one of my least favorites. There are others that took much better pictures of it with a wider angle. I rented a Tamron 17-50 for the trip and took my kit lens. Needless to say, the kit lens was never used. :o

Hard to explain but it's just a place you have to see with you own eyes. The colors are amazing. red rocks because of the iron deposits. and the green under the river (from whatever).

Hell, I have some more I can post :o

edit: tell your friend, thanks for the comment though.

I did a google search for horseshoe bend, and they didn't look as good as number 9. If the bottom part wasn't cut off it would be perfect. Did you take that pic at 8am like the exif says?

Trip looked like a lot of fun, I have done it many times and always enjoyed it. Photo wise: 8 is the only post processing I like. The rest look a bit too HDR for my tastes.

Yeah, it was a great trip! Went to Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Zion National Park (hiked Angel's Landing), Vegas, Los Angles, San Diego (in-n-out :naughty: ) Orange Country, And Mexico.

    Lots of great photo opportunities.
