xconverge was nice enough to overnight my new goods to me so that I could have them in time for this weekend. I think the total shipment time was around 16 hours. :eek3:

Initial impressions - this camera is stout. It feels like a lot more time went into it's design than my 30d. The ergonomics are great and everything is easy to get to. The grip is sculpted to fit the lines of the camera body, not just flat the way it was with my Canon.

All in all I am very happy that I made the switch. Now, I just have to go and take pictures. :mamoru:

I can't remember, and can't tell from the pic...is the Nikon prime on the right a 50mm or the 35 f/2? I'm interested in hearing how you like the 35 if that's what it is.

It's a 35 f/2, but in a 50mm box. I like it. Nice and lightweight. Haven't imported any photos yet, but it seems pretty sharp. Focusing is a little slow. I'll get a chance to take some pictures later and can post them up for you.

Cool thanks. I never picked it up because I read it was pretty soft at f/2. Can't justify getting a prime if you need to shoot it at f/2.8 for it to be sharp. Love the FL though.

Got it all, I appreciate it. I'm still amazed that you overnighted it to me. Shit can't be cheap. Loving the camera a shit load. Can't believe I didn't make this switch before.

Called in sick to work tonight (plus I'm hungover as hell) so that I can go shoot this evening. :bigthumb:

Oh, and about the stuff floating in the box, I just kept taking out newspaper and finding more and more things.

    Feels like Christmas!

Didn't know Nikon chargers were corded. That's gonna suck traveling. It makes sense though for photojournalists covering events and being in cramped media rooms.

    No/No.

I had it in the Canon mount and liked it, so getting it in the Nikon mount was a no brainer - at least until I can get the 14-24. The fact that xconverge was selling his was just the icing on the cake.

My hands are all over your body. :kdubb:
