I like thinking fighters, fighters who always come forward, who arn't afraid to engage and always give it their all, they like to fight and it shows. I like scramblers and fighters who think and adapt as they are in the ring.

I like the heavy hitters who have a formidable ground game. People like hunt, are way too weak on the ground I think, and that will be the main reason that they will never succeed.

i think the great thing about hunt is that he is willing to engage on the ground and isn't afraid like cro cop. he will dive into the guard to do some gnp and i think that in condusive to winning a fight because i think noone is sweeping him at 280blbs. What hunt could do with is more wrestling training to that he can dictate where the fight goes and actually become a sort of standup gnp wrestler.

just because he doesn't have much of a guard it doesn't mean that he has no groundgame.

In my experience the guard is atleast 80% of groundwork. That is always a very key component.

not in mma though where the emphasis changes alot

I love playing guard, i like the variety of submissions and sweeps from there but if i was in a mma fight if i couldn't sub the guy quickly i would try and scramble back up and get on top. No point lying on your back taking punches. This is not because the guard is becoming useless, it's because everyone trains in bjj and is prepared for the attacks.

Not only that but people are becoming more and more comfortable punching from the guard, it wakes you up when you seem people like lyttle, serra, nog and doerkson (who all have awesome guards) getting pounded there.

uploading one that's shitty quality, but it's small (less than 8mb). gonna get ready for bed soon, so it should be ready by the time i'm done

he's best friends with Gomi, participates in submission tourneys, K1 kickboxing, and MMA. he's also an awesome showsman and is very athletic

i like Gomi because he's damn technical and has an incredible understanding of fighting. rampage because he's rampage...always entertaining to watch and his slams are . Fedor is a machine...he's good in every aspect of the game and is probably the best pound-for-pound fighter out there. Silva is just a pure savage

each of these fighters have shown me at some point in their career what separates them from a normal fighter....gomi's fight vs BJ penn...it took penn so much to break gomi's will in that fight...even though he got dominated start to finish...rampage...you can see it even in his King of the cage days(marvin eastman fight,etc.)...he has the heart of a champion...and the natural ability to match it...silva and fedor...i really don't think anyone has greater motivation and drive in MMA...all the years silva has been champion he's never made the mistake of becoming complacent...same with fedor...he's just not human seriously...also silva's aggression just gives me chills

:werd: people who fight mad usually don't do that great because they can't strategize. but silva always looks like he wants to kill his opponent. :eek4:

I love how Gomi can throw hard punches as he runs backwards. I've tried that and could not get anything behind my punches, though I've implemented that into my training anyway.

Plus I think it's awesome how he's the quiet confident type. He was very gracious after suffering his first loss from Hansen, a fight which I think was a draw. He's always very modest but fights like a champ.

but in the same category with Wandy and Fedor, i'd stick Couture in there too. he has always evolved in his career, and he's probably one of the smartest fighters out there
