I really love Tim Sale's work, for some reason.

I met him at comic-con and he's an awesome guy, He drew me a picture of daredevil.

I don't have a favorite artist. That said, I think each artist has a niche where he can express his talents best.

For example, taking Tim Sale, I think he is awesome with the nostalgia types of portrayals like all of his Marvel stuff, and the year one type stories for DC.

Chris Bachalo is another of my favorite artists. All he has to do is draw women all day...but he does some crazy detail and dynamic action in his stuff.

For cover art, I love James Jean. It's always got an eerie tint to it, and it also is close enough to real while still bordering a bit on the surreal.

After those, I have a lot that I love. Micheal Allred, Mark Bagley, Gabrielle Dell'Otto, the Dodsons, the Kuberts (not a fan of Joe though), Ed Benes, Greg Land...and a second nomination for Chris Bachalo.

In the end, I'm going to tell you I lied about not having a favorite artist. I just wanted you to read the post. Bachalo is my favorite.

I think it's safe to say that Granov is the definitive Iron Man artist.

Atm, im completly in love with Humberto Ramos.
The work he's doing for wolvie is fucking awesome.

The way he excentuates charachteristics like wolvies posture and the thickness of all the limbs is almost cartoony.

Not to mention his perfect rendition of spiderman and how awesome his goblin looks.

Granov is amazing, I love his work on Iron Man. I'm glad he's helping design the suit for the movie.

Well, I guess I'll give Immonen a little credit for UXM...at least he wasn't the absolute worst artist on the series. That award goes to Kaare Andrews. Immonen gets the silver.

i really don't hate any of the artists on UXM, the whole run has been really enjoyable.

and i like immonen's weird, retro cartoony look. the most dangerous game, arc needed to be big and flashy...i thought it worked out great.

kind of like michael oeming, he's got that kinda shtick going for him on Powers...and it's excellent. it has the classic old school comic/cartoon look to the power's characters...except from time to time people get shot, snapped in half, decapitated, and have sex with one another.

I can totally see your point on Oeming...but I still don't see Immonen as being big and flashy. I see it as flat and...simplistic. Simplistic isn't bad though. I don't know, I guess it's the same phenomenon with JR JR. I hate his art, but I know it's good, ya know?

it's not 'ultimates' big and flashy, but the original mojoworld characters were pretty colorful...and these ones are just the same.

i went back and read that arc again...then i had to go back and read nextwave again. god i love that book, i can't believe it's getting cancelled. :(
