i replace the cheese fat (manually saturated acid 16:0 that raises ldl) with something else containing better fatty acids.... walnuts, pecans bla bla bla .

So I still eat the same amount of fat as in any other diet, just BETTER fats (non animal saturated if possible)

Animal fat is not bad for you. Considering that is what man ate for thousands of years and is what we adapted to eat.

I don't like sugar-free stuff. It has so many artificial sweeteners and chemicals in it I cannot imagine it would be good for you.
The extent of my sugar-free indulgences are: sugar free gingerale (when I drink), occasional splendas for my coffee, and maybe frozen pops.

I am surprised that someone like yourself (who is all about natural and European type foods) would eat so much chemical induced, sugar free stuff.

As for fat free... I spend 75% of the year monitoring carbs to keep them in restriction. I love fat, and take it anywhere I can get it (mostly mono-unsaturated of course).

how one wants to view the countless studies showing animal saturated fat is not positively healthy is up to you...

we adapted to eat it it and therefore animal saturated fat is also not essential...

i try to watch the sources... and sugar free is not calorie free... i like to get the bulk of my sugar free from malintol (sp?) a naturally occurring sugar with only 1-2 calories per gram, but of course with the side effect of it passing throw the intestines very easy for those not used to it...

I'm not talking about calories... I'm talking about the associated risks of consuming chemical enhanced sweeteners regularly.

I'm not trying to get on a pedestal or anything here... I use splenda in my coffee and such, but just saying...

Wow, just wow. That's possibly one of the more retarded arguments I've read on OT.

My favourite food, no added sugar yoghurt, no fat.

I like the no sugar added greek yogurt. They just use natural fruit juice and/or honey to sweeten it. Stuck is good and the macros are like:
    120 cals
    1g fat
    16g carbs
    15g protein

I eat it purely as a diet conscious desert, usually with some fruit. I'm not too concerned.

Why is it retarded to advocate consumption of the very things our species adapted to eat as their primary fuel source?
