Today was my off day for lifting so I decided to try out the cycles. It lets you select different modes so I selected fat burn mode since I need to lose some fat. Well it measures your heart rate and it said my target heart rate is 133. I rode this thing for 45 minutes, keeping my heart rate at 133, and I barely sweat at all. Did I burn fat, or did I just sit there for 45 minutes doing nothing?

if you didnt sweat and it wasnt too hard you were probably exactly in the fat burn zone.

It goes like this: technically, in the "fat burning zone" you *may* be burning a higher percentage of fat for energy. However, if you just plain work out *harder* you'll burn more calories total.

In short, ignore the machines, jack up the intensity and make sure you're sweating.
