anyone use them? i see them advertised all the time in magazines and whatnot.

im kinda thinking they are a gimmick and wanted to ask if anyone has tried them or is using them.

im talking about the pills that are advertised to burn off the fat so you tone up hardcore.

    seems kinda :ugh:

most of the them are crap, the few that aren't are only going to give you a slight bit of help, and NOTHING is going to make up for a poor diet.

fat burners HELP, but they are not a replacement for calorie restriction and exercise.

there are two primary types with some crossover

    1. stimulant based thermogenics (benefits= increased energy utilization, some level of appetite suppression, enhanced work capacity)
EC stack (ephedrine or ephedra + caffeine)
SYC stacks- tight, lipo6, etc (versions WITHOUT guggulsterones)
    SYMC stack- thermorexin

    2. Non stimulant- usually metabolic modifiers though can also be thermogenic
EGCG (green tea extract)- glucose disposal and thermogenic
Sesamin (sesapure)- fat metabolism modulator, possible thermogenic effects
    R-lipoic (glucorell)- carb metabolism modulator
fish oil (enteric coated concentrated-distilled)- fat metabolism modulator, may also affect glucose metabolism, may also have mild thermogenic effects.
hoodia- appetite suppressant (inconsistent raw materials so efficacy is hard to establish)
Alcar- cell metabolism modulator- may also affect glucose metabolism and fat metabolism- this may be an indirect effect.

so of the two. which would OT prefer if they were given the choice? i ask. cause im taking a product back to GNC (30day return ftw) and was gonna look into these and give them a shot.

im not looking to rely on them but if they help then i guess it couldnt hurt to try.

I dont get why you cant just watch your diet. Why take a pill for it? I dont even get how it could work. You think you can just take a pill and lbs just drop every week?

diet: best way to put it. if i cant cook it i wont eat it. plus the healthy foods and foods that i should be eating. i havent had fast food or soda in months now.
workout: chest-shoulders-triceps-biceps one day, then legs-back-abs another day. i alternate with 24hrs break in between. cardio on days off.

One Problem with caffeine is that it increases your heart rate, and you end up getting winded faster....

caffeine does mildly raise HR but it does not cause you to get winded faster. there is a reason that high dose caffeine is banned by the IOC and other sports organizations.

methylxanthine blends like those found in cardio breeze and thermorexin definitely increase time to "windage".
