fasted cardio

    im sure there's been a ton of threads on this, but what do you guys who aren't 6'1" 155 thnk about fasted cardio?

    i usually wake up and do my cardio (1hr walking or 45 of walking and hard running) then eat, but i'm thinking that's probably too catabolic seeing is how i'm cutting....tell me what it do, can fasted cardio be for real?

    you should be getting something in your system. I like some whey before then sip BCAA's during

    I'm not 6'1" 155, but i'm 6'4" 190, so i guess that's like the same thing :wtc:



    my opinion: i can't do anything after a fast. I will feel drained afterward and not live up to my potential during the actual exercise.

    I've always done my cardio in the AM on an empty stomach.

    personally i'm way too paranoid about losing lbm to attempt such a thing

    from what i understand, all you need is a small amount of protein before your cardio to prevent catabolism

    Good read Chris...ugg getting your VO2 max tested is the worst!! I threw up last time.

    I don't like cardio without something in my system.. whether its a scoop of whey in water or a low-carb protein bar, i gotta eat something.

    If I'm doing some cardio in the morning, I will generally eat afterward because I feel funny if I eat and then do it.

    I used to routinely do 90 min spin classes on an empty stomach.

    I really don't think that it makes that much of a difference. JMO though. I do fasted cardio just because it is the most convienent for me.

    this week i've been getting up outta bed and doing cardio with nothing in my system.. i dont have any water or food.. then i get home, drink water, shower, get to work (all in 20 minutes) and eat oats/protein shake :dunno:
