I've been getting a grilled chicken salad for lunch and dinner lately, usually at McDonalds or Wendys because its quick and convenient.

Is there anything unhealthy in these things? I hate putting a salad together at home, so I've just been buying these.

Mainly just wanted to make sure they aren't hiding anything in them. :noes:

    Good, bad?

    444 cal
    17g fat
    61g protein

Many of them are actually pretty bad.

The Chicken BLT salad at Wendy's with the light house dressing over 30g's of fat.... and most of that is NOT from the dressing. The salad alone has well over 20g's and barely only 30g's protein. Not horrible, but worse than you might expect from a salad.
The mandarin chicken salad is much better for you though. 150 less cals, and half the fat with the same amount of protein basically.

I often get a salad from chipotle that has lettuce, black beans, medium salsa, corn salsa, and double chicken.

    ~ 600 cals, 25g's fat, 35g's carbs, and 60g protein.

:eek3: I thought chipotle would be a lost cause for me, I love the place but from what I've seen it is horrible for you.

The burrito's are very bad for you. Over 1,000 cals, 120g carbs, over 20g fat, and 45g protein.... Not to mention the super high sodium.

So in order to get my chipotle fix and still stay relatively healthy I go with the salad, extra meat, and no cheese. The cheese they use is extremely high in saturated fat and you don't even notice that it is missing.

$1.45 or something. Not bad for an extra 26g of protein.

The salad costs more than the burrito though. So for the salad w/ extra meat I usually end up paying like $8.00 with tax.
