Fairly clean 68 mustang fastback, kinda reminds me of the bullitt car almost :hs: , but with strips. it looks like it takes some abuse in the film (no suprise, its an american car). and for power they decided not to use the orginal 289 nor the 302.. nor did they even opp for the modern 4.6.. they picked...

    wait for it...

    The Nissan RB26 inline turbo 6 cylinder from the R34 Skyline .... :eek4: ....

The only thing that bothers me about that car is the jap tip on it! It would be a cool idea if it didn't have that exhaust on it.

Hopefully, hopefully, they won't try and make it do a wheelie in the movie.

Twin turbo 289 with 9k redline would have been awesome :x:

how about some better pics to show that its the actual mustang with the motor in it. All you see is the motor and dont know if its really the same car

It doesn't look to be... the car in the above two photos looks black, or even a dark blue... while the car in the two bottom photos is obviously green.

Either way, the plot doesn't make any sense... the guy doesn't have time to wait for an engine from Detroit, yet he has plenty of time to pull out the old engine, transmission, drive shaft, rear end and complete exhaust to drop in a Nissan engine, redo all motor mounts, holes, adapt the master cylinder and gay it up with a fucking fartcan.

If you look close at the rear of the car in the first pic, you can really see that it is green, I was thinking the same thing until I really looked at it.

Original. But I do hope that bastardizing an american car like that will NOT ever catch on. Such a disgrace.

Act like motor swaps are something new. People on every forum are whining about this swap. Who cares??? People are putting LS1's into every car imaginable these days, E30 M3's, Mazda RX-7, Mazda Miatas, Nissan 240's, Datsuns, Porsche 944/968/911, Nissan Skyline's, etc... Not mention Ford 302's into old Volvos and Miatas. It's someone elses money so they can do whatever they want with it. It's not a "Desecration", the car is probably faster than it would be with a 289 or 302 in it and it's probably not nearly as nose heavy as it used to be either.

becasue all the swaps u displayed, they put a bigger, more powerful, motor into a car that wieghts less then the car that orginally had that motor..where as this swap is for a smaller less powerful motor into a heavyer car.. :ugh2:

Smaller motor yes, less powerful no! That motor with a big single turbo on it will make more power than a 289 easy. 500-600 rwhp is easily attainable with that motor. The powerband will be completely different than the V8, but it will have more power.
