the day they bring female morale officers into the marine is the day they meet enlistment requirements for the year.

The Marines have consistently met and exceeded enlistment requirements every single year since Vietnam ended.

It says they missed their first monthly recruiting goal in more than a decade by a mere 84 people, that's not a big deal at all and and also in the article it states that the Marine Corps is on well on pace to exceed recruiting goals for this year, so my post still stands true.

84 people is two training platoons. that's 1/6th of a training company. and considering the small size of the marine corps, that's a lot. the recent marketing push with tv ads and website ads and print ads is a lot more than i've seen when i enlisted at the start of the war in iraq. after you're done with boot and go on recaide or something, you will hear how much recruiters will bitch about how much harder their jobs are.
