We ran a LEO tactical carbine class and like 5 or 6 officers had DPMS LEO guns. Not one rifle made it to the end of the first day. Bolt problems. Bent internals. Broken pins. Broken clips (no, not magazines). FTF. FTE. Of all the AR manufacturers I'd have to say DPMS is a tiny step above Hesse.

It sucks too because I really like the look of their 24 inch precision bull barrel AR's.

    okay, it goes like this:

    LMT/Colt
    Bushmaster

    RRA
    Other assorted makers

    Eagle
    DPMS.

DPMS is only good for barrels. the rest of their shit sucks.

thanks. I was with PT when I thought that DPMS was good.

edit: What is this based off? Was it a test or just your personal preference?

Here's a Mega i picked up last month.

Finish is very nice. It doesnt have a smooth finish like BM, but it has a nice finish. If you're up close and personal, it looks gritty, but it feels smooth. :dunno:

My Bushmaster LPK fit perfectly into the mega lower. My BM upper did not mate to the Mega lower as well as i would look. Visually, it looks fine, except for this round part near the stock area. But, the fit isnt as tight as my BM lower and upper combo. I should be receiving a new upper next week, and i'll see how that fits the Mega.

well, i'm sure it will be tight enough for most, but i'm use to the rock solid unit of the BM combo. I guess I'm just anal about my stuff. :hs:

Also, about the colt LPK, a lot of people over at arf.com like JT's lpk. Supposely, it's suppose to be same quality as "Colts". Even have the same markings and whatnot, but at 2/3 of the price.

It's a bitch finding it though for some reason. I cant find it from the Homepage. I have to click on one of hte other shits, and find it in a different area, even though it's labeled the same.

DPMS is ONLY good for barrels. their parts and everything else are crap. RRA, however, is pretty much good for its parts, and decent for barrels. they do not make milspec barrels, whereas bushmaster, LMT, colt, and DPMS do. DPMS does not use forged front sight bases, however, which sucks. they use cast, which aren't as sturdy.

RRA's barrels are 4140 steel, which isn't as strong, durable, or heat-resistant as the milspec 4150 steel that the 4 majors i listed already do. they will chrome line a barrel for an extra charge, but they don't do it automatically on most of their barrels. i don't know if they chrome line the chambers at all.
