last time i shot was back in august and i needed some motivation to get going again. im hoping the fall season does it. was my cousins first bday, and i took some shots. indoors and was using my sb-600 for the first time, so there are some screw ups with shadows etc as im still learning.

as usual, C&C is always appriciated, idiot comments get ignored.

*this is the NATURAL colour of the water. It's called Pink Lake (after a family who lives in the area). After 13meters, there is no oxygen in the water :eek3:

tripod is a must i found. or at least my hands are far too shakey to do anything like that.

i also took all those on S mode...(not M, please dont rape me) and set it between 1/25 to 1/80. there were a lot of over exposed shots, its just finding that right shutter speed. :dunno: others may be able to help.

i really like the cliche finger one, but the BW conversion kills the image IMHO. Not enough white, its more like Black and darker shade of Gray.

going fall shooting this weekend. No waterfalls, but lots of bodies of water.

We'll see what garbage I can come up with.

for the portrait shots, looks like you were bouncing off the ceiling? A bounce card will help to soften the shadow this causes in her eyes.

    Nice shots overall.

Very cool info. I'm a sucker for history and old buildings in particular. The Ohio dept of natural resources owns a really nice mill like that north of columbus ohio, but its not in a very good place to get nice photographs of it. The rivers to wide, but possible from a boat it would work.

i know what you mean, the city im in has a site with historic trails via car/bike/walking. so we went and checked out some abandomed saw mill from the early 1900s.

not a fan of this pic but i didnt get any good ones. just giving u an idea :o

im angry at the site as it said it was a 'ghost town' but when we drove past it the first time....it wasnt much of a ghost town. housing on both sides of the mill, and even a boat launch right across the street. i plan on going back to get some better shots :)

and cause im in the whoring mood this am, another shot from the day.

area is called Mount St-Patrick. Its the first original Irish Catholic settlement in Ontario :eek3: the village also has the first Catholic church built there. Headstones in the cemetery dated from 1870s (no pics...just seems inappropriate to take pictures at a cemetery)
