I just got done ordering my first pair of MMA gloves for myself and a buddy of mine. I ended up getting the thumbless Fairtex Ultimate NHB Gloves in Large. Haven't heard anything negative about them at all.

Only difference is that mine are going to be in blue and black as that was the only color offered

What MMA gloves do you guys have or plan on getting? I'll post up a review if anyone is interested when I get them.

I have the TXMMA/Truth fightwear gloves. They are made on the same assembly line as Ouano gloves and I got 'em for $25 a pair.

I don't own any mma gloves, but those look pretty good. Fairtex is a pretty reliable company.

All of the other ones people were saying to get looked way to thick and seem like they would get in the way during grappling. I don't hit hard at all when training anyway so I don't need a rediculous amount of padding.

haha nice. Black and blue are also Ganyao's team colors.

And speaking about shorts, my tapout shorts came in today... that was REALLY fast shipping especially since they came from socal.

All the fairtex mma gloves are TOP quality, comftorable and hit like a ton of bricks. The gloves you are saying are to think, leads me to believe you are looking at the shooto/sparring mma gloves, wich are awesome for just that. Sparing, thick enough to be able to hit pretty hard, and padded enough that it's ok.

those are great for sparring id say. The only bad thing I can think of is it would be annoying when someone secures a tight overhook on your arm, because it would be really hard to pull your glove out.

I have the fairtex NHB sparing gloves, they are very similar to the hawks, I just like the fairtex quality. And Brolli, as far as getting your hand stuck, It dosent seem to be that much of an issue IMO, but if you do and you learn or have to work extra hard to get it out with the thicker gloves on, think how easily you'll be able to get it when you have the little 4 oz'ers on.

those are pretty nice. How much are they, I might just get those. Will those work well if you want to grapple/do ground work?

yep, as long as the palm part doesn't restrict your fingers you can grapple decently with em on.

The gloves I chose seem a lot more "grappler friendly" than those though

The Fairtex Ultimate NHB gloves are awesome. They are fight gloves, and are some of the hardest gloves made. Do not do any sparring with these unless you really want to hurt your partner! Have fun with them.
