I have always been very very light skinned. However now i desperately want to darken my skin tone. I would probably want to do it via tanning beds, however i am completely clueless as how to begin (i.e. how often, duration, tanning lotions). I really could use some advice, so thanks.

make sure you don't get skin cancer :x

my guess and the easiest would be go to a tanning salon. Just go in and tell them, they would tell you how long and such. But i am no pro, so you should get some other opinions :p

do you have hollywood tans where you are? you tan the fastest in their beds :bigthumb: just go in -- make sure you have eye protection - and tell the girl at the counter it's your first time and what not and they'll help you out :wavey:

    Another reality apparently
i am the whitest person I know. I usually do not tan, I only burn. Over the past few months I got fed up with it and slowly started tanning. I started at only 5 minutes and have worked up from there.

Do NOT go to anything that promises quick results! Tanning, especially for people with lighte skin tones, is not something that should be rushed.

I am pretty damn dark now, darker than all my friends, and darker than I have been all my life. It has taken a few months, but it is well worth it IMO.

Most tanning salons, atleast good ones, will be able to set you up on a tanning schedule that is right for you. LIke i said, just avoid those "quick tans"

If you go to a good tanning salon, they will actually make a tanning schedule for you. Wherever you go, start off slow and tan every other day. Make sure you use LOTION like crazy! Tanning dries yoru skin out but also, the more moisturized you are, the better protected you are and the quicker you tan. Don't worry about using the expensive lotions in the salon. They are a load of shit. Just buy some regular old lotion from your grocery store.

Trust me. I tan all the time and I'm pretty dark. And I'm always hanging around the tanning salon being nosey when it's not quite my turn.

I just start swiming. Slowy increase the sun and decrease the SPF. Use lotion.

    You're welcome. :)

Some tanning salons are really cool actually, like they won't be just helpful and nice nad blah blah, but they leave MINTS in my bed and have FINGERPRINT scanners. I feel like all high tech and modern when I go. :o Even though I'm slowly ruining my skin.. But maybe they'll have a cure for skin cancer when we get older? :hsd:
