Facepulls

    I tired them today for the first time but had some trouble. How do you keep yourself from falling forward when you are pulling the weight towards you? i tried leaning farther back but that only held up the first 2 or 3 reps. Also are they beneficial if you are as tall as teh high cable pulley:hsugh: ? Most of the demonstrations i see they people pull it towards them in a downward fashion, I'm practicaly pulling it in a straight line.
     
  2. lean back, you should be doing 10-20 rep sets

    if its that bad do it sitting down with the low pulley

    stand on your heels. idk, ive havent done them yet.

    so you can't go like really heavy on these? like 5-6 rep sets?

    I do them on a crossover machine. I sit on the floor and put my feet against the base of the machine.

    To the thread starter. Just do them on the low pully.

    why higher reps on face pulls?

    arent those for rear delts?

    ^ this is what i do, i put one of those stepup boards in front of the leg of the cable machine, and put my feet against them, and the pulley at head height.

    i do them sitting on the floor of the crossover machine with my feet against it. like was said.

    I've had similar problems with facepulls and falling forward. I just lean back and do about 20 reps of about 70lbs with a 5 second hold and get a pretty good burn going.

    I did them for the first time the other day...I just leaned back and bent my knees, didn't really have any problems falling forward...

    everything i've read for face pulls places them in the 8-15. i guess thats just being picky
