I've always been on and off with lifting, last summer I lifted every weekday (except Friday) but stopped once I got back to school. I graduated in December, and have been lifting/working out since January.

I've made some good gains, but I feel like I need something more serious... or it's time to take it up to the next level. I'm 5'10, when I started I was around 170... now I'm up to 188. I'm looking for a 4 day routine, but I' no expert on what I should lift when, reps, sets, etc.

My current routine looks something like this:

10-20 Minutes of cardio with each workout
    Monday: Chest and Triceps
    Tuesday: Legs and Back
Wednesday: Biceps (also max Bench, but that's it for chest)
Thursday: Shoulders and Traps (max Squat)
    Friday - Sunday: off

Nearly all sets I do are, 12, 10, 8... seems to have been working, but this is the kind of stuff I need help with. I'm not looking to do the whole bulking/cutting thing... I just want something to help progessively get bigger and make some gains, like an actual routine. I dunno, can you guys help stear me in the right direction and give me some advice? Is there anything else I'm missing that you need to know?

I know, I've looked in the archives already... but it's so overwhelming that I dont know what would be right for me, etc. I mean I'm no noob at working out, but when it comes to the right routines, etc I am.

:dunno: I've made some gains this way, but after reading through the forums and archives... it seems there are better routines out there, I just dont know which one(s) would be right for me.

biceps is such a small muscle group to do on its own day. you hit bi's with back. back and legs is most of your body too

compound movements build more muscle then isolation/bodypart splits. keep that in mind

that's what I've been meaning to get away from, the isolation shit I've been doing. I just have trouble trying to decide what routine would be best for me... no knowledge of this shit.

I was looking at christopher's post/routine. He has it listed at MWF, but I can only get into the gym M-Thursdays... any suggestions as how to break this up to make it fit into my schedule? Can I do M, Tuesday, Thursday instead? and throw in cardio and some light biceps, forearms on Wednesdays?

    Thoughts/Suggestions?

You only squat 5 more lbs than you bench? That's a little odd.

    I've done it M/T/Th, M/W/Th, T/W/Fri, T/Th/Sat, etc. without a problem.

I started working on my legs later then upper body. Although, my squat increases more on a regular basis then my bench does. With those numbers, what might a good starting point at dead lift be?
