F&N: How should I be eating?

    Hey,

    Okay, I know people are gonna post "check out the archives" but I just want some suggestions from you guys.

    I'm about 160, 6'0" and have accumulated some fat from the past two or three months. I'm looking to cut and get down to 140-ish. What should my daily intake consist of (food-wise and stat-wise)?

    Also, I should be doing more cardio than anything during a cut, right? Or am I totally wrong here?

    Is it possible to have a caloric deficit and still gain muscle at a steady pace?

    No offense, but 6'0" and you WANT to be 140lbs? I'd say eat big, lift big, and sleep big and aim for 200lbs! :big grin:

    I play point guard for my team so being lean/fast is ideal. I'm only a soph in HS btw.

    Ummm, I have never been "small" (not counting freshman year or earlier) and I can say that the women I encounter seem to prefer guys who are not small. I'm roughly 5'11" 225lbs right now,(not cut by any means) married, with a 4 year old daughter, and I pull as much, if not more, trim now as when I was single and 185-195 and semi-jacked. Of course, because I am happily married man I toss the numbers and "offers" away, or give them to friends, but still.

    When it comes to what MOST women like:
    Bigger looking/Jacked > super skinny every day of the week.

    I turned in my player card almost 6 years ago and I can still pull plenty of ass, and I'm no adonis in the body department.

    Yea I know man I was just shitting around, I was 145 and shredded but now I am 220-230 with some extra BF (can still make out top 4 abs) and as I gained the weight the chicks I banged got progressively hotter. I could almost right a mathematical function to show said activity.

    I can only imagine what would happen if I did that, I do wear a shirt with the sleeves ripped off sometimes but most do given Grove wont turn the AC up enough.

    and 140 at 6 foot, fuck son.... im 5'8" and 155 and im tiny as hell
    eat some more, lift some more, and you will be fine

    6'0 140 is like a scaled down version of me (6'4" 178) and I'm a goddamn twig (very low bf though... not skinnyfat). If I cared about how I look I wouldn't shoot for that. Don't worry about cutting right now and just bulk if you want to gain size.

    If you really want to get to 140 have fun with that. Stick with weights and diet... If you're an aggressive bballer then you may not need cardio.

    start lifting weights and you will put those extra calories to use, and raise your maintanence level. don't eat shitty food.
    at your age you shouldn't be worried about your diet, you should be worried about keeping active. if you are putting on weight, you are most likely not active enough. i see that you play basketball, maybe part of your weightgain is just a natural part of your body's maturing. i wouldn't know, i never hit puberty. 140 for a 6 foot guy is rail skinny.
