I'm having some serious pain issues occurring in my forearm when playing hockey, specifically wristshots, and also if i do a seated bicep curl using a BB/ezcurl and that seated curl stand thingo.

The red spots are where it REALLY hurts like a bitch. The pain feels like there is a weak spot on my bones or something and its stressing it too much. Ive never broken any bone in my forearms, and if i grab and poke/prod them right now for example they feel perfectly fine - no pain at all...

but when im doing anything with grip, it fucking KILLS me..

Should i be training my grip strength more to strengthen the muscles or is there some other problem going on?

I have this EXACT same problem... I'm seeing a sports doctor tommorow about it, I'll let you know what he says.

Sounds like the shin splint equivalent of the forearms. Work to strengthen the muscles in that area (wrist curls, reverse bb curls, etc.).

I had the same problem and same exact pain in the same area, my girlfriends mom(RN) told me i had tendonitus in my elbows, i stopped doing BB curls and any other leverage exercises that would put stress on my forearm/elbows, iced my forearms after every workout, and increased my fish bodies and it went away, havn't had the problem since.

I should also add - this has been happening for quite a while, and has just continued to get worse and worse to the point where i cant stand the pain anymore :hs:

Wrist shots seem to have no 'power' , and yes, the ez curls definately hit the spot, but i have had the problem since before i incorporated those into my routine..

I'll take ceazes advice and cut out the curl station (i only do it at the end of back day anyway to hit the arms until they can go no more :hs: ), and will continue to work the wrists/forearms..

i just want my damn shot back :wtcL:

everyone gets these from one time to another. skip those exersizes for a week or two and they will go away. preachers bring out the pain the most i think. just do spider curls or something like that

hammer curls will help your shot more than barbell curls anyway ;)

I used to have that when I did curls. Strech the muscles in your forearms by placing your hands together palm to palm and raisng your elbows. Strech your wrist real well.

I also have the same issue. Stop using the ez curl bar and start doing incline bench hammer curls and close grip pull ups. Avoid anything that makes the arms hurt. I've had this issue for about a year.

I have this problem as well, my wristers and snapshots were shit for a while. I stopped doing curls using any type of barbell, and dropped the weights and started doing higher reps with dumbell curls. The pain went away after a few weeks and I was able to up the weights on the dbs without aggravating the issue. You might find Cissus helpful for healing up a bit faster.
