    Hello all.

I need to get my lazy overwieght ass into shape. And I'm coming to you guys to help me out, and possibly tell me what I need to do.

I am 6'5" @ 239lbs. I don't look real fat, but I do have a gut with love handles and some hefty thighs :wtc:

I'd like to slim down and tone up, I don't (right now) want to become a big "broly" guy. But mainly just take care of the fat where it's at, and possibly beef up just a bit.

I have a desk job, I sit at my desk for the biggest part of my day. I don't eat alot. I have maybe one meal a day, and I try not to drink to much soda. I try my hardest to drink as much water as possible. I usually consume at least 4-5 16oz bottles a day.

What do I need to do to get rid of my stomach/love handles and my hefty thighs? I would like to get into some sort of nice routine. Would getting into a Gym be a good idea? Some diet I should go on?

I have a couple "minor" conditions. I have asthma, and it get's pretty bad in the heat and humidity, and I have lower back problems along with Knee problems. All contributed by my "growing pains" and what grappling and karate practice I had when I was a 15-18.

I just got lazy....partially because I became a smoker, not a pothead, just a smoker ( i still have my job, pay my bills, etc...):coolugh: Which I know is probably a big :nono: for someone wanting to get into shape.

Well I think I got out all I wanted to say.

Help me, flame me, motivate me, just lend a guy looking to get into shape some advise :)

:wtc: It's quite sad. I dont eat breakfast, SELDOMLY do I eat a lunch. Usually I just eat dinner. And at times it's not even that, just some little snack or something.

I'm just not a big eater. :dunno:

Heh, not that I didn't used to be. But it sucks, my tiny ass brother can eat anything he wants and not gain a single fucking pound :madfawk:

That's the last thing you want to do. Gym's are not the place to be for losing fat or becoming broly.

dude you need to be eating like 5 small meals a day. get at least 1g/lb of bodyweight in protein, and fill the rest of your diet in with clean fats (omega 3's, etc) and complex carbs. refer to the stickies. you need to speed your metabolism up; not eating and sitting all day has turned you into a large chunk of lard.

    :wtc: Sad but true.

Before I start dieting and working out, should I see my doctor and check out my Blood Pressure levels and Cholesterol levels??

High BP & Cholesterol runs in my family.

*Edit* And bottom line is to lose my fat and put on some bulk, just start lifting?? Or do I need to do SOME Cardio??

If you lose jsut 20lbs of fat you will be so much happier. If you lose 30-35 you will feel great but be starving:wiggle:

:) Or turn that 20lbs of fat into muscle

I'd rather convert the fat weight to muscle mass, instead of losing the fat weight then gaining the muscle mass.

I wouldn't mind staying 240 if it was Muscle, and not flab :wtc:

Or maybe a good 225 :dunno:

First off, fat can't convert to muscle.

Honestly, you need to do a lot of basic research on fundamental fat loss and muscle gaining.

Muscle fibers grow and fat cells shrink.

If i had a dollar for everyone who says this I could buy myself a new car.

240lb's musculr is huge even for 6'05" If you get to 220lb msucular you should be fine. even 210 is aight.
