I have these floaters floating around in my eye and it's a bit distracting. I have an appointment with my opthamologist next week to take a look at it. I've been doing some reading, and this usually happens when theres a tear in your retinal membrane. You then start to see "flashes" of light in your vision as well. Does anyone experience this, or have experienced this thype of thing? Also, any sites that actually explain the process of laser surgery or anything else to treat this problem? Thanks!

I have them in my eyes, viscious floaters or something, personally mine are from detached retinas from blows to the head, only very small detachments or tears though

i have been told their is no surgery form the available to me currently, its actually quite common

I have had them since I was young. They are harmless. Dont be bothered by them. Alot of people are born with it. There is surgery but its not worth the risk. Its like some people who have Tinnitus which is slight ringing in the ear. Dont be so worried and your body and mind adapts to it and you wont even notice in the long run.

If you are depressed from it and suffer mental anxiety then therapy is a better remedy. Its the honest truth.

everyone has floaters, when you have a sudden increase in them you need to go see a doctor stat probably means a detached retina

ive had them ever since i can remember, can only really notice them when i just wake up and lying in bed in a well lit room.. the like coast across your field of vision then you move your eye to try to follow it and it it seems like it just swooshes around in your eye. i read that its harmless and alot of people have em just not that many people notice them.

are floaters where you can see like... lil tiny things "floating" across your eye?

mine always look like a filo virus (a virus thats all curvy, ebola is a filo) and shit and i always thought it was like a dead virus on my eyeball that i could see really well cause it was so close.

i havn't had those in years.

I don't think that's what they're talking about, but I used to get those too, they were cool.

They're the remains of the hyaloid(sp?) artery that supplies blood to your eyes during development. The only cause for concern is if there's all of a sudden more of them.

Mine too. I remember trying to ask my mom the following when I was little.

"Mom, what are those little things floating in my eyes when I look up at the sky?"

    She said "Clouds Trevor, clouds."

I was like 5 and we were outside....guess she thought I was an idiot and didn't know what a cloud was.
