extremely stupid question about external HD

    It should work. You would format it yourself from the OS anyway.

    Yes, ANY firewire drive will work with a Mac. OS X can read and write FAT32. However, if you're just gonna use it with your mac, you might as well format it in Mac OS Extended with journaling enabled.

    on a side note, i wouldnt buy that hd.

    a better deal is to look in hot deals or on fatwallet.com and see where many stores right now can get a 160gb for anywhere from $40-80. then buy an external hd case. they are $10-$60 depending on where you get one

    Seconded, that's what I'll be doing one of these days.. You can always upgrade the HD cheaper later on :cool:
