I just got a job at the college radio station and I'm in need of an external sound card. I'm looking for something under $100 that actually sounds GOOD. It would be nice also if I could use it for the occasional Dj gig too.

    Any thoughts?

    check out www.m-audio.com
The "Transit" is a USB soundcard, with analog line out and digital out. Its $99, but maybe it can be found cheaper somewhere.
The Sonica Theater may be better, but its $120.
I have the Transit, and i like it. sounds good to me.

    M-Audio

M-Audio makes excellent equipment and they have awesome Mac support.

m-audio mobilepre would be the way to go, but you have to see if your air board can accept unbalanced 1/4" readily... or if you have a DJ mixer in the air studio, RCA jacks to plug into :dunno:

edit: if you have any other questions in this regard definitely ask me, I'm engineering staff at my radio station :big grin:

one more thing about the m-audio devices, it would be advisable not to go with anything that sends 1/8" minijack out, there's probably nothing in the station that would accept that connector without having to hook up some adapters, and the sound quality probably won't be optimal.

    Icy,

What do you personally recommend? Something relatvely cheap with the best audio quality possible.
