I was moving some music from my laptop's harddrive to an external harddrive (Maxtor 160GB 7200rpm drive in a 3.5" box USB connection) and my computer locked up for no reason.

After restarting, everytime I try to open up the external drive from my computer I just get a "not responding" window appearing.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled all USB drivers on my computer, and I've also tried the external drive on another computer in the house.

    Any ideas?

    IBformat :o

    Thanks for your time.

you said you tried the drive on another computer, but you failed to mention whether it worked or not.

Sounds like the hd is corrupted. If you need the data off of it try running a data recovery software on it, like GetDataBack NTFS.
