is it possible to have like a 10min exposure? I just bought it this past weekend and dunno wanted to try some stuff tonight but can't figure it out. I might just be too tired who knows

Switch the shutter speed to "BULB" and leave it on for 10 minutes.

No, you'll have to hold it down or use a remote with a shutter lock on it. At least, that's how it works with the XTi and the old film SLR I had :dunno:

the original 300d worked with the RC-1 IR remote, not sure if they continued it on. but a wired remote is always a good idea.

but yes BULB is the answer, and a good tripod.

extra hints, using mirror lockup and/or a 2 second timer can help reduce any camera movement

    rc-1 and rc-5 work with the 350.

also, you must be in Manual mode to do over 30sec shots on the XT

i've taken a 15 minute exposure with a very very very oldschool, out of date, 6.1 Megapixels (we all know you need at least 10 these days) nikon d70 before and the shots came out with no noise really at all.
