I registered a domain back in 2005 with 1and1. Well they were shit and I kind of just left the site alone but it was still up until this month.

It is currently "On-hold (redemption Period" which I'm not completely sure is. I'd like to have this domain back but I'm not paying the outrageous fees I'm sure it'll take to get it within the 35 day or however long period I have to do so.

    It's a widely known site for it's subject(well, was)

How should I go about getting this back, but with a different registrar?

Do occasional whois's on it until it's free'd up.

I had a domain with netfirms, expired, someone scooped it up, and then I went to netfirms, and renewed it.. it some how overpowered the new person's registration :eek3:

just checked and it says it'll stay in that period for 30 days. I'll have to watch it like a hawk. I know of some folks who will be after it:hsd:
