Sweet. You'll love that gun. Make sure you get all the cosmo out of the gas cylinder. I made that mistake the first time i cleaned mine up and the semi auto wouldn't work.

It should say on the box, and you should be able to tell by looking at it. If there are knicks/carvings/scratches in the stock, then it was most likely issued... and the box would say "good" or "shooter" etc. on the box.

I'm sure you could use it on your gun but I've heard of people using Diesel for taking off Cosmo. Was on work equipment though (fork lifts, etc.) and not guns. But I have heard of people using it to clean guns though. I've considered getting some because it's not that expensive compared to other cleaning solvents.

Nice, I have the same gun. I soaked mine in gas and scrubbed it after. Then I soaked it in break free and it has worked with no problems.

A couple cans of brake clean and a gallon or so of mineral spirits works best for cleaning it up.

I've used mineral spirits and brake cleaner in the past to remove cosmoline. However, I've recently started using one of those handheld steamers to clean. It's a lot less caustic and the cosmo just melts out of the metal and wood.
