quick question that might not go over so well.

my traps are predisposed to unproportionally big and making me look like a tree stump. My question is:

what are some exercises to work back and shoulders without hitting the traps hard. It just looks bad when they get too big.

i didnt say they were huge i said they were unproportionally large. As in they grow faster then the rest of me.

rant: Listen im not a jackass, ive also seen alot of your pics and aside from the few who run this forum and keep it together youre all a bunch of average guys who go to the gym. Good for you.

im not a mook, i put effort into heavy deads, heavy squats and dont neglect my legs. obviously heavy squats and deads isnt the same thing as christophers posting heavy squats but i definately dont neglect my shit.

i come in here because alot of people know their stuff, i know what i look like when my traps get big. They arnt huge theyre just proportionally large to the rest of me and it doesnt look good. Its my fucking perogative to look how i want and that includes molding specific parts of my body. If you dont want to help or want to be sarcastic stay out of my thread, thanks :)

back and shoulders without hitting the traps hard?

    frontal db raises
    supine rows
    lat pulldowns (varying grip)
    db rows

    ...

those are a few that come to mind

pull ups, db presses, db raises, etc. the only back exercise that i can feel in my traps as well is bent bb rows

you are not going to isolate your traps out of any back/delt exercise

look at the pretty pictures on the machines. they'll isolate a specific muscle group for you.

kind of an ironic user name, eh?

if they grow faster than the other muscles it's not a big deal, just keep growing everything til it stops and let the other stuff catch up. They can't really be that obscenely large. Also, if they are large already, i don't see what you plan on doing.

Beyond that, most shoulder exercises don't hit traps except for rear delt stuff, which you can avoid if you want, so i don't see why that's a problem. Back stuff just focus on the lats with other things people mentioned if you want.
