Exercises tha target the butt?

    I've been doing squats, hack squats, step ups and lunges....but I don't really feel it in my butt :o

    I read some study that said quadraceped leg ups activate the glut max and glut min the most? You basically get on fours, with your legs on a 90 degree angle, and rotate upwards...the thing with that is that you can't add weight

    Any other ideas? Or any different stances/form I can be doing to target the bum more?

    deep wide stance squats and deads where you squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement maybe?

    yeah i notice if i go deeper on squats i hit the ass a bit more, i'll try the wider stance next time...

    no one's showed me deads yet :o

    Seriously, none of this is lame hack squat, step ups business. ATG front and back squats, RDL's, elevated pulls, and wind sprints. You will get some legs and an ass to to impress your fellow pirates.

    Another vote for lunges

    Medium weight, fairly high rep until you can't stand any more

    Lunges also seem to give the worst DOMS ever

    i think if you don't feel it in the glutes you are probably not going as deep as you can. and i reading an article about a 3rd world squat and how they have better joint flexibility than Americans... yadda yadda yadda. well the article said that when most people (usually Americans) do a deep squat they don't have good enough balance of comfort in a deep squat position so they compensate for it but having the knees travel much past the toes in a squat. and when you have better form and your knees stay behind your toes you can feel the burn in your glutes a lot more.

    Lunges and single leg SLDL give you soreness in totally different places in your glutes. That's why I do them both.

    Single leg SLDL with just the bar will make my glutes way more sore than doing double leg with 315.
