I'm wondering how I extract a string of letters from a cell... Not the whole word..

Say cell A1 has Photography in it. What code would I use to tell me what letters 3-7 are?

    If A1 = Protography
    =Mid(A1, 3, 7) returns otograp

    and

    If A1 = ijustwantpics
    =Mid(A1, 3, 7) returns "ustwant"

And you can use mid(a1,3) to return all of the characters, starting with the third (doesn't matter about length)
