Does anybody know how to link a box from page 1 to page 2.

For example... I need to figure out the formula to link these two,.....

On Sheet 2, Box A1, I need that to show the information located on Sheet 1, Box A1, without actually copying and pasting.

I have a headache from trying to figure this out.

    =SUM('Name Of Sheet'!E70:E74)

    similar to that

    or just an individual cell

    ='Sheet 1'!A1

I just came in to say that I despise excel for this exact kind of reason.

    Carry on.

    OR...

Simply hit = then navigate to the cell on another workbook or worksheet. And click the cell. And hit enter.

    Tough stuff.

I'm sorry, but you're doing something wrong if Excel perplexes you. Like the guy above me insinuated, this should have taken the OP 30 seconds to figure out.

Excel is a non-stop set of random rules.

There's nothing intuitive at all about having to dig sometimes 4 or 5 layers to click on some function that should be/could be point and click.

The problem with software like that is that they make sure that every conceivable option is covered at the expense of the ordinary.

Except... that... it is... point and click?

Sorry, but you just need to work with it for awhile if you think it's at all difficult or not intuitive.

What options are you using on a regular basis that you are having troubles getting to? I am in excel alot of my day (2003 and more recently 2007) and i rarely have any difficulty finding what i need... and rarely even use the mouse.

Who clicks functions? Why wouldn't you just type in the function name?

I didn't mean to start a cluster fuck in here, believe me.

    :mamoru:

But the last time I used it, I went through all my music gear and did up some very basic walkthroughs on every process that I expected to have to use over time.

Once I had these walkthroughs, I wanted to put them in a good excel style layout, print them out and then laminate the sheets.

I'm talking 200 page manuals here, and this turned out to be like a 6 week project.

My goal was to have these quick-start work sheets for my gear so I wouldn't have to pull out the manual if I hadn't done something in a few months.

Well when it came time to work with excel. I was literally bugging a guy I work with for info on where everything was hidden at. Absolutely stupid shit, as far as I was concerned.

I specifically remember finding some things that were a half dozen layers deep.

By the time I was done, I seriously wanted to kick someone's ass at Microsoft.

    :eek3:

    Office software? I'll pass.
