Excel Help!

    Trying to manipulate date in an Excel sheet, but not sure how to do it. I want to compare two columns on the sheet and i would like excel to highlight or somehow record the changes in the data. for example:
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1
    3 1
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1
    1 1

    If each of the numbers are in a cell, i would like to be able to find where the changes are. Hopefully excel, in this example, would highlight the number 3 because that is where the change is. Any ideas on how to do this? Macros?

    The easy way is with an if statement
    =if(A1=B1,"Same","Different")

    Try this out and manipulate as needed. You can make a macro to highlight, it's not too hard. If I get a free minute later I'll write it out for you.

    What would i write so that excel picks out the changes and moves the information up so that the identical data is in the same row. if there is nothing identical, then it should leave a blank row.

    think i got it. downloaded asap utilities for excel. ill keep ya updated.
