When I sort two columns (one with a formula) excel changes the formula. It assumes that since the info was moved down three cells that I want the formula moved down three cells also. i.e. =a1+a2 it gets sorted and goes down two cells. It now reads =a3+a4. How do I tell excel to just leave the formula how I typed it and not assume I want it changed. Thanks

Ive never tried that, but try sorting with the formula column also selected.

Other than that try cutting the column, sorting, then pasting?

    Just some ideas.

use absolute referncing. if you want to absolute refence a cell, ex: A3...use A$3$.

    and buy a sub
