I would say my desktop is pretty plain, no GUI mods besides a few menu extras that display stats... I use to use Max's Milk theme with ShapeShifter though.

    Here's my desktop now:

Do you guys have any examples of OS X desktops that are done well, but not too flashy? Posting your own would be better :) :x:

I see a lot of people that have trendy abstract wallpaper but that's soooooo 2000

i purchased a subscription to www.digitalblasphemy.com , and some of the wallpapers this guy produces are breathtaking. completely digital landscapes from scratch, really pretty cool. i have all of them saved and zipped up, maybe i could YSI them here in the macshack for my homies to download.

as for shapeshifter, i purchased that a while back. the thing is, i could never find a theme that i was fully satisfied with. either the buttons didnt match, or the menu bar didnt look right. i dunno, i keep trying it over and over, but finding myself switching back to aqua every couple days. aqua is just so pretty :hs:

I used to love Digital Blasphemy for backgrounds, but these days I think they're way to busy and they strike me as very garish. I find most of my backgrounds on www.deviantart.com anymore. It usually takes a bit of surfing to come up with some good ones that are properly sized, but it's worth it (especially since they're all free).

yeah i agree digital blasphemy stuff kinda looks either outdated or cheesy.

i usually get my wallpaper at deviant art or customize.org and sort by rating

i just went into photoshop and made the colors on the tiger aqua background more vibrant. it was kind of a dull blue and didnt really match the title bar or spotlight. :hs:

Wow, I have too many. I love the desktop rotation. But I will post pics of my favorites when I get back from OKC.
