It's scary how close a commercial sat can get, on full zoom from the FREE google map no less, I can recognize a few things on the image :noes: is anyone else concerned about this ?? Im all for knowledge of the public and stuff but jeez when do we call it a security risk ?
edit: yes i have a general idea of how good mil grade sats are but the fact is , how many ppl have access to google... to say the least millions and the info that can EASILY be obtained by anyone with an address or generally descriptive name kinda worries me.

One of the bases I was TDY at was a US Navy sub tender base at Holy Loch, Scotland (now closed):

...and my last Reserve base after I left active duty was Bergstrom AFB, Texas (now Bergstrom International Airport):

Where I was stationed before I got out. I'm guessing this is pretty recent judging by the lack of vehicles visible in the motorpool, my unit deactivated last September and the only thing left there is a small MI unit. If you go down and to the right just a little you can see our very own range and gas chamber big enough to drive tanks through, and if you go straight to the right of the base you can see the MI listening post and our MOUT site just to the right of the small airport.
