Ever slam the weights? Feel like a idiot

    I was doing some heavy back stuff today, and I my last couple sets i had to get the weight back on the rack which took a good amount of effort. it slammed pretty loud, not going to lie and another gym member said something like " that inst necessary slamming the weights, your not pulling 395. He said it in front of a few people pretty loud and in a fucked up tone. Guy is jacked as shit, but i was pissed and said if you don't like it go home.

    I feel like an ass because I did slam the weight to get it back up, but i felt like he disrespected me by being cocky and having to announce it like he did and acting like a big shot, because he is one huge mofo. Should i apologize, or how would you guys handle situations like this at your gym. I try not to slam the weights, but seems like the last set or two i might get a little loud.

    if the weight was heavy for you and you couldn't help but slam it from exhaustion, then he should just stfu. Doesn't really matter how much weight you're pullin, not everyone's strength is the same.

    Dont slam unless you really need to. Fuck anybody who complains. Pushing yourself in the gym sometimes leads to noise. If it happens ALL THE TIME then youre a faggot. If it doesnt happen every once in awhile then you are a faggot.

    hey if the guy wants to be a toughnut dork in the gym "bro your back isn't as jacked as mine u aren't as elite so you shouldn't be slamming" he's going to get a toughnut dork response like "if you don't like it, go home".


    He should have said "do you mind not slamming the weights? it's loud" and you should have said "no problem". Then you wouldn't be having this emotional crisis.

    Yeah it sucks, I posted a while back about some stupid middle aged lady that "told" on me for dropping a dead lift when I was spent. She went to the gym for a whole three days before quitting. Staff guy comes over and tells me I can't do that.

    On the other hand there is this total asshat that comes once in a while and like throws down 50lb DBs after a set of incline like he's doing 150's and will get up and yell FUCK and like punch the wall or something stupid like that. That shits just annoying.

    i avoid him because one time he came over and started giving me "tips" which involved touching me and i was like go the fuck away weirdo, you're not even a trainer :ugh:

    The dude is a douche. I dropped a 25lb plate by accident and some fatass black trainer mumbled something about dropping plates like a retard loud enough that everyone in the area could hear. I just turned around and said "sorry, accident" and the guy looked at me sort of apologetically.

    If it's really an accident, don't sweat it.

    i try not to ever slam the weights, but i really push myself in my gym. Most people in my gym prolly could do another 5 reps if not more, but they have it in their mind they are tired and put the weight down. when i lift no matter if it is light or heavy, i move the weight until i cannot move it anymore and as a result, it is hard for me to get it back on the rack etc.

    I would have been cool with the comment, but i beleive his size 280ish or so, me 200 he was both trying to intimidate me and embarrass me. I really would have approached the situation differently if the tables were turned, that is why i became cocky.
