Washed it out three times now, smell wont go away
Lots of times.
Sure it smells like a dead beaver for a while, but a good soak with dish soap and water will always remove it. It may need another cleaning after the initial cleaning and being dry a few days if the smell of rotten eggs and dog's balls isnt gone yet.
Have to leave it in the dishwasher for a few cycles
About all you can do is wash it out a few times, then let it set with the lid off for a week or two. Get a second shaker, by the time you forget and let it get all jacked up, the first one will have properly fumigated and be ready to go again.
little bit of bleach, let it sit in there overnight and it should be good
or just get something that doesn't hold odors (nalgene), although it still can if you leave the cap on and let it sit for a week
I have like 6 blender bottles so when one gets fudged up I just toss it
Then again, now that I think about it, blender bottles don't hold odor very well even after 1 wash
my ON shaker leaks, my blender bottle leaks, my free max muscle shakers are crap
i just bought one from nutrishop for 4 bucks and it works way better then anything, think ill go pick up a few more.
yea, but i let the woman take care of that
i usually just buy a new one after that...the worst is when you put oats in your shake and forget to clean it, fuckin nasty
mine cleans real easy, i just rinse it after the shake and it's fine. if i forget to clean it, the smell comes out easy since it's supposedly medical grade plastic.
When I'm done I squirt a little soap in there and fill it halfway with hot water. Shake it a few times and it's like new.
I've left a blender bottle sealed in my car for like a week. The smell was awful but it came out after one run through the dishwasher.
I usually drink my breakfast shake on the drive to work (8 mins tops from leaving my front door ) and leave the blender bottle in my car all day. Sometimes it sits in the heat with a little bit of whey, milk, peanut butter, olive oil, etc whatever I made a shake out of that day... Sits there for like 8 hours, I come home and give it a half-assed scrub. Neither blender bottle stinks, and I've had them for 2 years. maybe you're just a bad washer.
throw it out, buy a fresh one.
It's only with cheapo freebie shakers. My blender bottle doesn't hold odors.
Christ I feel like I should get some sort of kickback for all the nice things I say about my blender bottle.
I've always cleaned out the container after I'm done with it, but once, I left some frozen fruit bits I was using to make my shakes out on the counter and it was buried under some other dishes (I suck at dishes, they're always all over the place). I don't know how long it was there for, but when I unburied it, there was different coloured fungus for every different fruit and in different shapes and sizes
bleach and hot water...
I forgot one in a bag that was left in my hot car over the weekend, and it was all sorts of epic when I cracked that sucker open. Took hours before the kitchen smelled okay again.
Yep, did it once with milk ... it was BAD!! I left it on my desk at work ... for a week (damn vacation!!). There was blackness in the bottom of the cup. I rinsed it out with hot water and soap, I put it in the cabinet and the next day what lil water left was lime green. I threw it out. I make most of my shakes with egg whites now ... I don't wanna think what that stink will be like.
1. rinse it out with hot water
2. add soap/hot water and shake it
3. sack up and overcome the smell
